TO REVIEW A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF LEXINGTON ZONING ORDINANCE
A public hearing will be conducted by the Lexington Planning Commission at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday,April 25, 2024 in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, to allow persons to appear and present their views in response to a proposal to amend Article III. Use Matrix and Article XI. Use and Design Standards of the Zoning Ordinance to allow mobile restaurants to operate in Jordans Point Park and Brewbaker Field Sports Complex with a written agreement with the City of Lexington. The proposal is to amend Article III to add Mobile Restaurant as a by-right use in the P-OS zoning district; and to amend Article XI to amend the use and design standards for mobile restaurants.
A copy of the draft Zoning Ordinance Amendment, case number ZOA 2024-02, is available for public review and examination between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Planning and Development Department located on the second floor of Lexington City Hall, 300 East Washington Street.

The City Council of Lexington will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 during its regular meeting, held in the first floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, concerning Ordinance 2024-04 which appropriates funds approved in the fiscal year 2025 budget. The ordinance includes rates, fees, and taxes to be established for the fiscal year. The proposed real estate tax rate for FY25 is $0.92 per $100; no changes for personal property tax rates are proposed. Water and sewer rates are proposed to increase by an average of 8.0%.
